All-Time Winningest College Football Programs – 2012 (Post-Penn State Penalty) Update

Now that the NCAA dropped the bomb on Penn State, the all-time winning percentages have changes as the Nittany Lions had been #9 at 68.940%. After the adjustment, Penn State is now #11 at 65.832%. Tennessee moves up to #9 and Florida State enters the top ten.

Using the NCAA as the source, here are the top 10 college football progams based solely on the percentage of winning games:

1. Michigan  73.570%

2. Notre Dame  73.138%

3. Oklahoma  71.761%

4. Texas  71.622%

5. Ohio State  71.375%

6. Alabama  70.986%

7. Southern Cal  70.270%

8. Nebraska  70.121%

9. Tennessee  68.719%

10. Florida State  66.414%

Three of the top 10 are B1G schools (it was four, but Penn State got vacated upon).  The University of Michigan is number one.  I hate that. I’m a Michigan State University grad, and always hated Michigan football growing up.  For the record, my MSU Spartans came in #28 at 59.389%.
