Hell yes!  It’s almost here.

Players report for fall practice this weekend.

Exactly one month from today, at 8:00pm, the Michigan State Spartans kickoff the 2013 season at home against Western Michigan Broncos. I’ll have to go to a bar becuase it will only be on BTN, but that’s okay. I’ll take it any way I can get it.

And before I sign-off, here’s a short article in which Max Bullough sums up pretty clearly how I feel about the University of Michigan: “Utmost dislike.

MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS MAX BULLOUGH STRONG DISLIKE MICHIGAN WOLVERINES

Bring on the college football.

Go B1G!

Go GREEN!!!

Jonesing for Spartan Football

Right about this time every year I start freaking out a little because I’m more than ready for football season. So, what do I do?  I search the web for videos to give me a fix until I can get the real-deal.

Check these out if you need a fix too…

Best just to watch the last half, or last quarter even of this one…

And this one from the previous season was a wild ride (too wild) as well…

GO GREEN!

Nice post from Brian Bennett at ESPN.com’s B1G blog on the B1G 2016 and 2017 schedules when we switch from eight to nine conference games each year. Check it out here.

For a more Spartan perspective on the the schedules, read Chris Vannini’s article for The Only Colors, an excellent MSU Football blog. Check it out here.

Here are the conference schedules for ’16 and ’17:

2016

Oct. 1 – AT Indiana
Oct. 8 – Wisconsin
Oct. 15 – Northwestern
Oct. 22 – AT Maryland
Oct. 29 – Michigan
Nov. 5 – AT Illinois
Nov. 12 – Rutgers
Nov. 19 – Ohio State
Nov. 26 – AT Penn State

2017

Sept. 30 – Iowa
Oct. 7 – AT Michigan
Oct. 14 – AT Minnesota
Oct. 21 – Indiana
Oct. 28 – AT Northwestern
Nov. 4 – Penn State
Nov. 11 – AT Ohio State
Nov. 18 – Maryland
Nov. 25 – AT Rutgers

2016 seems more manageable than 2017, but that’s based on teams today.

Things I like: No Iowa in 2016 and no Nebraska in 2016 or 2017. Even better: MSU plays UofM at Spartan Stadium in 2013, 2014 and 2016 before returning to the standard alternating pattern..

Things I don’t like: No Wisconsin in 2017 (Spartans-Badgers has really turned in to a very good rivalry and some of the best B1G football to watch).

On a side note, we’re are under 50 days before college football action kicks off. Seems like it was 100 days out just a short wile ago. It’s still hot and muggy here in NC so it feels like football is a ways off but I am ready for it right now! Spartans report for practice August 3rd and first practice is August 4th. Yes!!!

Go Green!
